Newly discovered necropolis, Otrićevo, Rogatica

Finding an undiscovered and unrecorded necropolis is a difficult, demanding and painstaking job because such locations are mostly in remote places. It is necessary to have knowledge, experience, patience and good information from local people from the field, without which it is impossible to finish the job. Such is the case with this necropolis of 26 stećaks, (sandučari) above the village of Otrićevo, which is located deep in the forest, and across the river Prača is the old town of Borač, which was made of wood and which burned down. The new stone town of Borač, the seat of the Pavlović lord, is a few kilometers upstream along the Prača river. We are proud of this discovery because it was not recorded even by the great necropolis researcher Šefik Bešlagić, which is an additional motivation for us to find new undiscovered necropolises. I especially want to thank my friends from Rogatica: Mirsa, Salka and Šemsa.
