  1. Not severe enough. These are traitors that deserve the maximum sentence for the crime.

  2. My takeaway from all this chatter about not certifying means any locality who doesn’t want to certify is showing the rest of us they went blue!

  3. In a perfect world they should be dragged into the streets for undermining democracy…

I’m more worried about them literally shredding votes. There are 70 some MAGA reality deniers working in election offices in all the battleground states.
It’s been proven time and time again that these people are willing to risk everything to help their cult leader “win”.
This election will be the most litigated in history, there will be violence and it will be the biggest shit show in U.S. history. There is no way MAGA weirdos just allow a *black woman* to win.

Not enough faced punishment last time, so I highly doubt they’re that worried this time. Trump has already talked about their people being in the election process, so it’s enough to start an investigation.

Is it just me, or shouldn’t “election denial” disqualify one from having a job anywhere in elections? Why are these people employed or allowed to volunteer in an election?

There is no guarantee that they will, and in time, though!

We know how fast Merrick moves, and there’s the SCROTUS to side with these fascists’ feelings that there was fraud!

They’re the same fuckers who valued Christo-corporate feelings more than actual science to take away health care from employees.

What would be really sad is if Americans just let conservatives get away with one more thing.

Is there anywhere that keeps a tally of how many people have gone to jail for trump, and for gow many days. A websife or electronic billboard that says for example: 675 people have spent a total of 10,475 days in jail for trump. He has spent zero. Would go hard to show these fools where they can end up.

  10. Why do I not trust this? Oh yeah, because Republicans get a free pass to do whatever tantrum crap they want.

  11. Bidens still president until they certify, right? The Biden who scotus just made immune of all “official” acts? Seems like it would be pretty easy to clear up.

  12. That’s a bill to be paid like 5 years from now.

Meanwhile the chaos they’ll unleash after election will run rampant.

I have NEVER seen SO many fools go to the slaughter for any political “cause” in my entire 73 years on planet Earth.

Rudy Giuliani had busted the mob in New York City using the RICO laws like NO one else before.

Withstood the 9/11 nightmare from hell.

Rudy KNEW about Trumps business dealings and still goes down for Trump.

Then, all of those convicted for January 6th.

The only people who have benefited from Trump are defense attorneys. Real freaking economic development my ass.

  14. Media and law orgs need to smarten up. The soft word ‘could’ makes the claim lame. Refusal to certify results is a crime or not? Personal preference for a candidate isn’t a deciding factor. Are they doing their job or not?

  15. My solution is they are stripped of citizenship, put on a plane to a random, poor country, and dropped off.

Garland should have acted faster and more aggressively against the first slew of traitors.

Good. This is what they need to really push this and have serious process and protection in place so no militia or other bat shit crazy politicians don’t think twice about interfering with who people voted for. This goes for sides. If we don’t, we won’t ever have a normal Presidential election or any election for that matter.

  18. This will only be the case if Harris does what Biden didn’t have the balls to do. There were a **lot** of counties and districts with election officials who refused to certify in 2020 and 2022. There were **shockingly** few consequences for these flagrant violations of the law and many of these bad actors remain in their positions to interfere again. Biden continued the utterly contemptuous and failed political strategy of playing civility politics with traitors, election manipulators, Christo-fascists, and bigots of all kinds. It’s the disease affecting the last five decades of Democratic strategy. The foolish belief that Republicans are “good people with different opinions”, and not brain diseased fascists with values fundamentally incompatible with civil society who will gleefully see you and all of your friends into gas chambers. The Harris campaign seems to be the first Democratic campaign in my lifetime that is operating under the recognition that Republicans cannot be treated with civility, nor should their ideas and beliefs be considered with anything but contempt. “Severe punishments” require a willingness to make the hard choice and put these criminals behind bars, and not just the rank and file. The seditious, anti-democratic, anti-American leadership infecting the halls of federal and state legislatures.

  19. >Experts: Pro-Trump officials could face “severe” punishments if they refuse to certify election

    Could?

    (Sigh)

    Just no more words.

  20. Might this be where Biden flexes the new immunity powers the conservative SCOTUS just granted the presidency? maga election officials in these states are a national security risk, and they need baby sitting.

  21. Until we as a society start throwing the book at these traitorous individuals, things won’t improve

  22. How are they going to be punished if the presidency and Supreme Court is run by the guy they were supporting?

Just ignore them and win in a landslide. He can’t cheat em all.

  23. And they care becaussssssssssse? Nobody on the right is facing much in the way of a consequence yet, so what does it matter? The republicans gotta republic… they’re going to choose not to certify if they know they can get away with it.
So until people start saying that officials “WILL” face severe punishment instead of saying “could” face severe punishments they’re not going to change.

  24. No they won’t. We have watched in horror over the past decade as politicians, wealthy people and corporations routinely violate all kinds of laws and norms without so much as a slap on the wrist. The blatant disregard they show for our laws should be met with heavy punishment like us normal people get over a lil weed or something similar. I want one simple thing and that’s for the rule of law to be enforced equally on everyone/thing that’s in our country.

Well, braying for blood aside, it is an assuring reminder that despite the fuckery afoot, there are safeguard mechanisms in place, which is why this isn’t easy. Every needs to stay frosty, though – for every pernicious plan, we need to counter it, and vote in numbers that will be undeniable.

  26. Not a single false elector from 2020 is behind bars currently. So i highly fucking doubt these “experts”

  27. Serialfornicator on

Yeah yeah, and yet they don’t even enforce subpoenas for these people. I’ll believe it when I see it

  28. Stinkstinkerton on

There needs to be a massive Purge of the election denying Republican vermin frauds from all branches of government.

  29. And yet 2020 happened and few repercussions resulted. They will demand proof there isn’t fraud, not that there is. That’s the logical fallacy we are up against. Just like how Challenger blew up because management required that engineers prove it wouldn’t be a successful launch, rather than require they prove it will be a successful launch.

  30. For anyone who wants to learn more or take action check out Mark Elias from Democracy Docket. He has a website, is on YT, newsletter, and is on Brian Tyler Coehen’s YT channel regularly. He and his law firm have been working on these cases for years and have been very successful.
