  1. A bit from the article:

    > “We know our rights and our progress are on the line, but so is our very sense of belonging,” said Delaware state Sen. Sarah McBride, who was elected as the first openly transgender state senator in the country. If McBride wins her bid for Delaware’s open House seat, she would become the first transgender member of Congress.

    > “We have the opportunity, but more importantly, the responsibility in this election to show a trans young person who fears that the heart of this country is not big enough to love them too, that no matter what extremists say or do, our next president and vice president continue to have their backs,” McBride continued.

    > The Harris-Walz campaign has yet to release any concrete policy plans on civil rights ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next week, but advocates say Harris and Walz have demonstrated their commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ rights, access to abortion and the rights to bodily autonomy overall. A draft of the Democrats’ platform, which was released in July, outlines their fight to restore reproductive rights, address racial inequalities, and protect democracy.

I doubt any trans people were planning to vote for Trump….

It’s demographics Trump might have a chance with that are more important to watch to see how this will go tbh

Since they might be put into concentration camps under Project 2025 that is probably a good idea …. to mobilze.

Project 2025 plans to reclassify transness under the umbrella of pedophilia –  which it wants to authorise the death penalty for. This is in addition to many other proposed ways of going after trans people. It’s a scary time to be trans, and trans people are a tiny minority that can’t win the election alone. If you have trans friends or family, please don’t forget to vote in order to protect their safety.

  5. We all need to mobilize to protect this vulnerable population. That’s what real patriotic Americans do. Stop all anti-woke Republicans and evangelicals from continuing on their hate campaign. Check out all your local school board candidates and make sure that you don’t vote for a Moms for Liberty Nazi. They are everywhere. Vote the rest of the project 2025 Republicans out.

How can she lose now? According to screaming man on Fox News they are the majority of the country since Biden took office.

  7. Let’s see, She is offering respect and legal protection. He is offering elimination from society.

Hmmm tough call. A champion or being sent to the wrong prison to be raped and murdered by inmates.

Yeah, that’s the stakes. Anyone who downplays it isn’t paying attention.

  8. I think the stance of the trans community on the Israël Gaza conflict can be a risky topic for Harris, as I think behind the scenes Democrats are still pro Israël which is also important for Western interests in the region as well as the Democratic electorate.

So like 1% of the population who are most likely not going to vote for Trump anyway?

Well, here’s one trans woman that’s proudly supporting a Harris/Walz ticket. The level of relief I felt when Biden dropped out was *immense*. This past year has been exhausting, I just want to live my life and be left alone haha.

I definitely want to get involved with a postcard writing campaign GM to help get out the vote.

  11. I mean duh lol. Trans folks are one of the least likely groups to vote for a Republican for several reasons. I wouldn’t ever consider voting for a candidate who wants to take away my gender affirming care and that’s one of the few policies conservatives have.
