  1. It’s kinda wild that America is so polarized the only time any major national figure can even hope to be near 50% is shortly after winning a major election. Harris’ numbers are kinda wild in that context. She’s basically favourable among everyone she can be right now, if we’re being realistic. Keeping in mind favourability is all adults not just voters so a larger pool that includes people who won’t vote/like her from the left in addition to the GOP.

  2. Maybe because she is just a normal, intelligent, caring person. It amazes me how much this is a novelty in politics.

Looks like Donald’s gonna need a better insult than “Laffin’ Kamala.”

  4. She lost ground in Pennsylvania, which is make or break for her campaign. Donate, volunteer, vote. She’s still the underdog.

  5. She’s younger, empathetic, relatable and is making lots of great promises. Will she fulfill those promises? Absolutely not, but she’ll push and try to make as many happen as possible.

On the flip side, you have a man who seems to despise America and wants to burn it to the ground and using his presidency as a way to escape prison. So yeah, I’m voting for the chick who doesn’t hate my county and will try to improve it.

Does anyone have insight on how these polls are conducted? Are they opinions of people who answer unidentified numbers on their landlines still?

The vice president’s popularity has upticked sharply in recent surveys, according to RealClearPolitics’ tracker of polls between July 22 and August 11. The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s overall favorability rating stood at -4.7 on Wednesday, with 44.5 percent finding her favorable and 49.2 percent unfavorable.

The last time Joe Biden’s favourability rating beat that was in October 2021, when it was -4.4, with an unfavorable rating of 50.7 percent and a favorable one of 46.3 percent.

Trump last held a stronger favorability rating than that of Harris in April 2022, when it stood at -3.5 percent.

Too early to say yet, but I’ll feel nothing but relief if she wins and we can begin mending the extreme polarization divide.

It’s been so extreme. It’s exhausting. Like I remember arguing about politics with people—now it’s just arguing about reality itself. One really long and terrible joke that was never funny and yet it’s been told every day for like a decade.

    I’m tired boss.

  9. And Hillarys’ poll numbers predicted an easy win against the amateur populist. Register and vote.

Yes, but he’s a pragmatic progressive who is willing to work with the other side.

I will forever admit I was wrong about what would happen if Biden dropped out, and I will do so happily.

Huh. Who knew that joy and laughter actually plays better than hate and grumpy weird old men?
