  1. 1) It’s not discriminatory at all, and claiming it’s against Muslim/Arab countries is a lie. It also applies to, e.g., India as well.

    2) The requirement has been there since 1991. It was just not followed strictly.

    3) Online petitions never change anything.

    4) Hopefully, it’s a temporary measure, as they want to ban shit-level universities from accepting international students. Although I feel really sorry for the ones that got into actual universities & want to study here 🙁

  2. This law does not impact just Algerians alone. Unfortunately, while I agree that it has been put into place in an abrupt and ham-fisted way, our government had valid reasons to implement it.

It’s not your fault that a bunch of assholes who happen from the same region as you were filing false papers, but it’s because of them that you have to suffer increased scrutiny.

    > This would make an end to their aspirations for higher education due to an inconvenient introduction of the recognition procedure.

Or you can just apply for the next semester.

    > and many relevant Education Boards (kurator oświaty) have not responded to applicants’ inquiries

Take a moment, calm down and put it into perspective by asking yourself how large the scope of the boards’ responsibilities is and how many people are panicking and making the same inquiries to the boards at the same time. There’s only so much processing power the boards have even if they were operating at maximum efficiency.

  3. Sorry, but crying “discrimination” will not get you anywhere here – studying in Poland is not a right, and after all the numerous abuses and staggering incompetence surrounding the whole student visas affair, the new restrictions are completely justified, while the whole system is being remodeled as we speak. Your petition will not change anything, and that’s a good thing. The message being sent is clear as day – Poland is no longer a free entryway into the EU for anyone with a pulse.
