>”He was seen laughing as missiles were thrown at police officers. A bus was also attacked with damage caused, and the defendant could be seen kicking the bus.”
>Mitigating, solicitor Matthew Wallace said his client had been drinking and was getting a bus home when he ‘saw what was going on’. “He found everything very entertaining in drink,” he said.
>Whitworth, of Costabeck Walk, Newton Heath, was remanded into custody and will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on August 22.
Remanded in to custody for kicking a bus and laughing at the police?

The judge told him “You have heard the sort of sentences that people who were involved in the large scale disorder have been getting.”
I can’t put my finger on it, but saying that seems a bit wrong, like the judge has been given a extra powers. I could be wrong, coffee hasn’t kicked in yet.
Man who helped vandalise a bus during a riot is arrested, fixed the ragebait headline for you.
This guy looks several sandwiches short of a picnic.
For those who like to defend the people that did actively take part in the violence and disorder the other week – what do you think their consequences should be?
Funny how lots of redditors, after reading one article, think they know better than an actual judge, who’s had many years of legal experience and seen ALL the evidence.
Right. And? I absolutely condemn all that shit, but I’d rather be reading about prison sentences for the scum who were setting fire to buildings than some drunken idiot ‘laughing’ at riot police taking a pelting.
I just read that story (after navigating 16,000 adverts and popups) and there really is little else to it. Hardly journalism is it?!
