Pashtun vs Persian (Population worldwide )

We’re only asking about population here.
I’m from Afghanistan, a country with many ethnicities, including the major ones: Pashtun and Tajik. As a Pashtun, I often debate with my Tajik friends about the global influence of our ethnicities. We can’t agree on the worldwide population of our ethnic groups and need a neutral third-party answer to settle this.

How to answer: We’re focusing on ethnicity, not language. Pashtuns are self-identified in any census. For Tajiks, we’re including the overall Persian population (ethnically Persian, not just Persian speakers).

Here are our findings from Wikipedia:
High estimate: 63 million Pashtun vs. 57.5575 million (Iranian Persian), 26 million (Population of Tajiks overall), Total: 83.5575 million
Low estimate: 63 million Pashtun vs. 45.1605 million (Iranian Persian), 19 million (Population of Tajiks overall), Total: 64.1605 million
