“Our ice-cream machine is broken because we’re importing all of these criminals from Venis- Vena- Venewella. Vote for me as manager and I can kick these brown illegals out and we can have a working ice-cream machine again.”

  2. Do they still use those spoons that snap into the blender? I remember those being weird to operate when I worked there and the McFlurry first came out. The torque on that machine was impressive too.

  3. I know Trump looks at JD the same way he looks Eric and Don JR… straight disappointment.

    >”You know Vice President Harris grew up in a middle class family, picked up shifts at that McDonald’s as a student. I keep asking this to make a contrast here, can you simply picture Donald Trump working at a McDonald’s, trying to make a McFlurry or something?” he said.

    >Trump, he added, “couldn’t run that damn McFlurry machine if it cost him anything!”

Well said, Governor Walz. It’s cool to know we have a truly middle-class ticket, with Harris having worked at McDonald’s and Walz spending most of his life in the military or as a public school teacher.

These are the kind of folks who should be running our country.

In November, we can make it happen

  5. It’s brilliant the way Walz uses social class to highlight how different Trump is and that he is not one of us. But he does it with just plain speak, no labels, no hint of ideology, just a story that anyone can get.

I’ve often said that candidates should have to compete by doing normal things, like making a sandwich, or folding laundry, or pushing a broom.

  7. As someone that was never required to get a single paying job until after graduating college…..I fucking love this

  8. I can’t picture Trump making a McFlurry. Or anyone else for that matter BECAUSE THE FUCKING MACHINE IS ALWAYS DOWN

Trump was born retired and there’s a very solid chance that he has never cooked a meal, done a load of laundry, or pumped gas is his entire 75+ year life

I think trump would identify with the Mcflurry machine, since the mcflurry machine never works

  11. Think on this. Trump has NEVER had a job interview. NEVER had to freshen up the resume and sweat through an interview, hoping to get a job or promotion. Daddy gave him huge money, and he and all of his kids have been living off it since.

  12. Love this speech! So powerful and moving honestly how he’s so explicitly pro-union! Which side are you on??

  13. Trump would blame the broken machine on the MASSIVE MIGRANT CRISIS with his funny hand motions.

I read this earlier today: Mitch McConnell is terrified Kamala Harris will enact policies that end up kneecapping the Republican Party.

I’d like to see the Harris machine put up billboards with that quote, followed by:

Thank you, Trump, for killing the Republican Party. Yours, Kamala.

One of my favorite things in this speach was the contrast between Walz’s and Vance’s take on military service. While Vance swiftboats and mostly attacks Walz’s service, The Coach simply thanks Vance for his. Nothing more, nothing less.

Rolling up to the drive-thru for a self-care Oreo McFlurry at midnight, after a long day, and because that’s your only quiet/self-time from the fam, only to have it not working is soul crushing. A feeling that Trump and born rich conservatives would never know.

I wouldn’t want that Russian hooker piss drinker touching any of my food, ever.

  18. “Someone should look into this vanilla soft serve. It was always white, until I threw in these Oreo crumbs and suddenly it happened to turn black. I respect either one, but it obviously doesn’t.”

An infinitely sad irony of our current reality is someone like trump is 100% unemployable by ANY business and yet it’s possible he may again hold one of the most important jobs in the world.

  20. With his rap sheet and physique, Trump could live out his days being the Hamburglar.

I’d love to see him in prison and his uniform is a stripe suit, cape and mask.

Picture Trump selecting paper towels at a grocery store. Has he ever been to a grocery store? Why would he? He has had butler/servant types his whole life.

He doesn’t even know what groceries cost today versus 30 years ago, he’s never known.

Why should our taxes pay this know-nothing to decide how we live our lives? He has no idea how we live and he has no interest in learning how we live. He has no interest in making our lives better regardless.

  22. Imagine him changing a tire, or grilling a steak, or plunging a fucking toilet. God really out did himself when he made Trump. Such a bright shining example of how not to be.

  23. The Harris staff and campaign know how to generate headlines and memes that get under the skin of Republicans really well.

  24. This tactic is genius. Walz is so good at highlighting these small details that really separate Trump from the crowd. Sometimes the large outrage can be hard to digest, but the imagery of Trump living in an average American’s world is so digestible and relatable. It’s very effective in polarizing Trump from the “common folk”, which I think will rip a lot of votes away from him. Same with him simply labeling trump as “Weird”, as opposed to some large concepts such as “dictator” or “bigot”, which some people obviously may not be able to relate to.

I believe education is the huge dividing factor between the liberals and the republicans, and without the eduction some of the discourse can become agitating and non-productive. Labeling trump as “weird” and pointing out how far removed he is from the average American is such an easy topic for everyone to relate to and it becomes very hard to argue against – especially the latter.

I would continue to point out things that make him so out of touch. I bet Trump has never pumped gas in his life.
