Yesterday on Nova’s website I was greeted by the following news.
At first, I thought that this was another attempt by the Bulgarian media to milk the case of the above-mentioned individual, and I was completely ready to pass it by. In the end, I decided that this article was too outrageous not to read and gave Nova the much-coveted click.
My interest in this case study was already piqued, but the quality of the text in Nova’s article quickly reminded me why I generally avoid them as a medium. But after looking for other articles about the situation, I noticed something quite interesting – the only media that had reported this news (at least at the moment and according to the parameters of my search) were Bulgarian.
The source in the three above articles (as well as on "Gong") is the following Twitter/X post:

Several Bulgarian media outlets, two of which are among the largest ones, have cited a post published by an account whose owner clearly states that it is a parody.
I understand that Imane Khelif is a hot topic (especially in our latitudes) and that the media is directly dependent on the attention it receives, but to allow a situation like this to happen demonstrates how desperately low the level of "the journalists" in Bulgaria. I’d like to write something about how a lot of them can’t write like humans, but the fact that I’m sitting and writing a Reddit post at this hour has given me an existential crisis, so I’ll stop there.

Това далеч не е първият път българска медия да се хваща на и да тиражира лъжа .
Убеден съм че повечето редактори са или с поднулев коефициент на интелигентност , или са платени да разпространяват глупости , или и двете . Такова е нивото на масовата журналистика в България .
Радвай се че този път е нещо безобидно , защото често не е.
Брат, Нова само преди няма и седмица нарекоха Халиф “транс боксьор”, въпреки че тя е биологична жена. Защо си учуден че за пореден път не са си проучили фактите?
