This is fresh yeast. You might be more used to dry yeast as that comes in a more powdery form instead.
“drożdże babuni” means “granny’s baker’s yeast”, it’s just a brand. “drożdże” means baker’s yeast.
There’s some people saying that fresh yeast is tastier, some say there’s no difference, but the main point is that fresh yeast expires faster than dry yeast, but is ready to go and doesn’t require you to hydrate and proof it because the bacteria are already active. Be aware though that if your recipe calls for dry yeast, you can’t use the exact same amount of fresh yeast – there are weight converters online to help you.
