Trump plans to return to Butler ahead of presidential election Former US President Donald Trump says he plans to visit in October the town where he was injured in an attempted assassination during an election campaign rally last month.

Trump had an interview on Monday with entrepreneur Elon Musk on the social media platform X. Trump said he is going back to Butler in Pennsylvania.

The planned visit appears aimed at boosting his appeal just before voters cast their ballots in the November presidential election.

Trump criticized his rival candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, over the US border control issue, saying she and the Democrats could “close it up right now.”

Musk said he was historically a moderate Democrat, but he feels like Americans and the country are at a critical juncture.

He said he thinks many people thought President Joe Biden’s administration would be a moderate administration, but it’s not. He went on to say, “And obviously we were just going to see an even further left administration” with Harris.

Musk said he now supports the Republican Party in this presidential race.

The interview started about 40 minutes behind schedule due to a technical problem, which Musk blamed on a massive cyberattack.
