I captured this image in the early morning hours of May 11 of this year. Most times in this part of the world, the Northern Lights appear far to the north and color, other than a faint green, is not visible. That was not the case on this night! The is the view looking to the south from Silex Spring. I used a 14mm lens to the angle of view is from nearly straight overhead to slightly below me. It was an absolutely stunning display that lasted from sunset to sunrise and I didn’t miss a minute of it!
