Hi everyone,

I have been closely following the seismic activity near Naples, and it has been increasing, especially in the last year. I have created a simple notebook on Kaggle that automatically downloads the latest earthquake data from INGV and generates some visualizations. The data and graphs are updated every week, so you always have the latest information. You can redownload the data and rebuild the graphs at any time.

What is particularly worrying is that the Campi Flegrei region is home to a supervolcano with a history of devastating eruptions. About 39,000 years ago, it produced the largest eruption in Europe in the last 200,000 years, with ash reaching as far as Romania. While I am not an expert, it seems that the possibility of another major eruption is a serious problem that deserves more attention and preparation.
Here are some of the graphs from the notebook. I recommend checking out the interactive versions on Kaggle to explore the data in more detail:

Hi everyone,

I’ve been closely watching the seismic activity near Naples, and it’s been getting more intense, especially in the last year. I created a simple notebook on Kaggle that automatically downloads the latest earthquake data from INGV and generates some visualizations. The data and plots are scheduled to be updated every week, so you’re always seeing the most recent information. You can quickly re-download the most recent data and re-build the plots based on it.
