Cześć! I am curious how Serbs and Serbia are viewed in Poland. If someone was to move to a city or town in Poland what would be the general stereotype if any.

I know Poland is fairly religious outside of urban centers, curious how people view Eastern Orthodoxy especially given the history with Russia and Ukraine?

(the song is a cover of legendary Yugoslav band, Azra, "Poland in my heart"referencing support for Solidarity. Recorded and aired freely in Yugoslavia)

  1. In my experience it rarely gets mentioned at all. I gather that back during the Communist era the Balkans were a popular vacation destination.

Eastern Orthodoxy (here known as Prawosławie) is not viewed in any particularly positive or negative light (which means it’s got a better rep than Catholicism these days). We know it exists, there are some tserkvas (cerkwie) hereabouts and Poland has an Autocephalic Orthodox Church that was established in 1924. The highest estimate of number of Orthodox believers puts them at around 1% of our population.
