On the Wind of Prohibitions

Although we constantly witness the current palace regime blocking access to various sites from time to time, it is impossible not to think that they have been caught in a new and harsher wind of bans in the last month. First Wattpad, which I think was banned based on a moralistic point, then Instagram, which is indispensable for everyone and why it was banned has never been fully explained, and now Roblox, the apple of the alpha generation’s eye and a source of income for some people, has been banned for no reason. Although I can understand to some extent why the palace regime, which we have known for more than 20 years, has banned access to Instagram and Wattpad, the Roblox move really surprised me. I think they are uncomfortable with the tax-free income earned from the game, but of course no clear information is ever given about the bans.

I may have made the introduction too long, but the main thing that needs to be talked about is "Will this wind continue?". I don’t care one bit about Wattpad and Roblox being banned, but not making enough noise about these situations can cause the wind to continue to grow stronger. If Steam is blocked tomorrow, for example, woe to us. I think everyone is not making a sound against the ban because they can easily access Instagram with a VPN. But we should not forget that even if VPN helps, we cannot continue our lives using VPN if the bans continue to increase.

It is obvious that the palace regime is taking a hard line after losing the local elections and the public’s reaction to the economy, and this will not be limited to banning certain sites. As long as we do not raise our voices in the streets and turn on VPNs and remain silent, the hard line will undoubtedly continue.
