      I’m no scientist but of course meteors that penetrate deeper into Earth’s atmosphere leave longer trails. That seems obvious.

      Meteors that reach further into the atmosphere have not only traveled through more atmosphere, but also into denser atmosphere. This seems like a given.

      Three times in my life, I’ve had one go over that was so low it made a noise, kind of like the hiss of a bottle rocket. It’s really cool.
