25 °C in the north, 30 °C at the mediterranian, 40 C in the inland were the land, Castillia, La Mancha looks like Texas or Arizona is really nothing unusual.
I was on a motorbike trip in Spain and Portugal about 15 years ago. The temperatures were pretty much exactly the same.
