We are in the 1998in Aulla, a town in the province of Massa and Carrara, an endless line of kids from all over Italy is anxiously waiting in front of a door. The roars of subwoofers and speakers are already echoing in the air, which, like a call, attract more and more kids. At a certain point the door opens, the music becomes clearer, it is strange, melancholic, but at the same time fascinating. The dance floor begins to fill up, and chants begin to rise among the kids:"DUPLÉ, FEAR!… DUPLÉ FEAR!". The Vocalist starts talking, and with his magical stories he begins to envelop the kids on the dance floor, making them "fly" towards the music, towards the rhythm… towards the "canto" which at that moment made them all united, Brainchild di Nostrum.

But what the guys are listening to is not the original version of the track. As usual, for the discos of the time, especially in Tuscany, the most popular musical genre was precisely Progressive Trance music, characterized by its slow and melancholic melodies. Brainchild however was born in 1994 as a Hard Trance song, the song is in fact very fast, about 160 beats per minute. The DJ at the console that evening, Claudio Diva, decides, as often happened at the time of "to commute" the song, but how? The idea is mainly based on the reduction of the track’s tempo, which, on the turntable is played at a speed of 45rpm, but then pitched at +8, in this way, a very fast song like Brainchild, instantly becomes Progressive Trance.

This second story marks a new stage on my journey to discover Trance music and all these "Saving" that remain etched in the memories of those who were able to live through that era. In a previous post, I told you about the story of Lost In Love, a song by Legend B, which at the time was played exactly like the one discussed in today’s post.

Inspired, I decided to get to work on the original track, which I purchased in FLAC format, and, using Audacity, I was able to recreate a perfect high-quality version of the slowed-down track.
