I dont think people understand how worrying this is.

If the polar caps melt it means the gulf stream will cool down and collapse, which is the main thing supplying heat to Europe.
If the gulf stream cools down it means Europe will have winter all year long with temperatures reaching more than -50c during the coldest months.
There is already indications that the gulf stream is in the early stages of collapse, and there is literally no way to stop it.

Despite reaching tipping points, we are failing to act proportionally on the climate emergency.

This is capitalism. Capitalism kills us; we need alternatives.

  3. Honest question….so what does the world do? Is the hope to reverse or slow down climate change? If the latter, by how much and in what timeframe?

  4. It really is breathtaking. Just as industrialization sends us into an ice age termination event (100 years is the blink of an eye), we build sophisticated computers that are used for climate modeling that tell us exactly what’s about to happen. Shoulders are shrugged. I’ll go beyond blaming capitalism, big corporations, government bureaucracies, or whatever. It’s more an indictment of human nature itself.

  5. Save the planet, don’t procreate.

If humans end, the planet will finally be able to heal.
