Stop moaning and embrace the long day. Winter is coming then you can really whine.

I always remind myself that our rain is the main reason why we have such a beautifully green country, and that tends to settle it for me.

Sure what’s the harm in getting a bit wet anyway, you and your clothes will be dry by the end of the day.

  3. Will never understand Irish people complaining about Irish weather, we grew up with it, it’d be weirder if it wasn’t pissing rain in July and August

It’s confusing now it’s going to be a long winter. Really thought we would have a nice August, it’s so muggy though which is frustrating when no sun

  5. One of the worst summers in memory. Made worse by the amazing summer great Britain and the continent has gotten

  6. This is what we get for voting for successive Ff/FG governments for the last 100 years.

  7. You know, as a guy who works in New England outside everyday, I have been waiting desperately for summer to end. I cannot take the sun anymore. No matter how much sunscreen I wear or layers I use, I feel like the sun just bakes its way into my soul. I can’t take it anymore. I would move to Ireland and work in a peat bog tomorrow if it meant I got to labor in that kind of weather. I am at my best physically and mentally under overcast skies

  8. This is what scares me about moving from the US to Ireland. I like rainy weather, but only up to a point. In the mid US, we have lots of sunny days, but summer time at 37C with 80% humidity fucking sucks too.

It’s just been fairly sunny and warm for a week. Now we get a slightly colder day and people instantly restart pissing and moaning.

I’ll take it over a lovely sunny 40 degrees, which seems fairly regular on the continent these days. It may be wet, but no ones dieing of heatstroke.

Lads, I have been living in Ireland for the last 9 years. Most of them in Galway. I had never complained about the weather, but I must admit that, since the last winter I am feeling very unsettled. Specially because the lack of sun. I wouldn’t mind with the mild temperatures or constant rain if we had more sunny days.

  15. So happy I went on holiday down the country last week. Weather was lovely. Driving home in the first day of rain all week gave me no end of joy. Last year we were pissed on the entire week.
