Japanese golfer Matsuyama Hideki has won the bronze medal in the men’s Olympic competition. He is the first Japanese to get an Olympic medal in the men’s golf event.
In the final round on Sunday, Matsuyama started in fourth place at 11 under par.
He ended the day with six birdies and no bogeys. Matsuyama recorded a final score of 17 under par to clinch the bronze.
Scottie Scheffler of the United States posted a winning total of 19 under par, and Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood took silver with 18 under par.
