Japanese police call on public to provide information on missing French woman Police have called on the public to come forward if they know anything about a French woman who went missing while sightseeing in a Japanese city six years ago.

Tiphaine Veron, 36 at the time, was last seen leaving her accommodation in the city of Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, on July 29, 2018.

On Monday, exactly six years after her disappearance, about 20 people, including local police officers, distributed flyers that included Veron’s head shot, as well as photographs of her outfit and belongings at the time, in front of Tobu-nikko Station.

Police suspect that Veron might have collapsed while she was out because she had a chronic disease. They are still continuing to search for her but said they have yet to find any promising clues.

A Tochigi prefectural police officer called on those who were staying in Nikko at that time to examine their old photographs and videos and inform police if they include Veron.
