French high speed rail services to fully resume on Monday The operator of France’s high-speed TGV rail network says services will fully resume on Monday morning.

The national railway operator SNCF announced on Sunday that repair work has been completed on all lines affected by acts of sabotage on Friday, the day of the Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony.

Services were disrupted after fires were set early Friday morning at three railway nodes along routes connecting Paris to the country’s northern and eastern regions.

Many trains were canceled, seriously affecting travelers, including those who were heading to the Olympics’ opening ceremony.

Investigative authorities believe that the arson attack was organized and premeditated with the aim of disrupting the railway network.

Interim Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin is overseeing the investigation.

Darmanin said on Saturday that authorities have recovered a certain number of pieces of evidence and will know fairly quickly who is responsible for the attack.

AFP news agency reported on Sunday that several media outlets received emails the day before justifying the attacks and criticizing the Games.

It says the messages were written in a dialectic used by activists of the anarchist ultra-left.

Local French newspaper Le Parisien also reported the possibility that the incident was a coordinated action by violent protest movements linked to the far left.
