Discussion on social media about insulting Atatürk turned into an armed fight: 1 dead

The incident occurred last night in Tokat. Mustafa Günel, a married father of one living in Zile, criticized Vesile Yiğit, who posted on social media, for allegedly insulting Atatürk. The conversation between the two turned into a swearing-worded argument. After the argument on social media, Mustafa Günel told Vesile Yiğit that he lived in the Zile district of Tokat and sent her the location of his house. Thereupon, Vesile Yiğit, who lives in Mersin, came to the address where Mustafa Günel lived by car with her husband İsak Yiğit, her son Hakan Yiğit (20), Halil İbrahim Yeşil (20) and Caner Gündüzlü (21).

Seeing that the people he had argued with on social media had come to his house, Günel went downstairs. The argument between the parties turned into a fight. Mustafa Günel, who was injured by the blows he received, opened fire with a shotgun he took from his house. While İsak Yiğit, who was hit by the pellets during the shooting, fell to the ground, his relatives fled the scene in a car. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address upon notification. Upon examination by the medical officer, it was determined that İsak Yiğit had lost his life.
