Japan’s meteorological agency has downgraded the highest-level heavy rain emergency warning for Yamagata Prefecture in northern Japan to a warning.
But the agency still urges residents to remain alert.
The agency revised the emergency warning issued for Sakata City and Yuza Town in Yamagata Prefecture at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday.
It says the risk of rivers overflowing and flooding is still high, urging people to stay updated on the latest information released by local municipalities and ensure their own safety.
