I’ve seen this "mixed pasta" from Rummo in the supermarket yesterday. Isn’t this basically all the leftovers generated from making different shapes of pasta? If so, I find this so stupid. It’s not even cheaper than the regular pasta shapes. Who would buy this, and for what purpose? I believe each piece would require a different cooking time, so this makes no sense to me. Some pieces will be overcooked, while others will still be hard. Please enlighten me!

  1. GeneraleRusso on

I’ve seen people using this for making “minestra”. In the past people used broken spaghetti for that.

  2. It is used for pasta coi legumi o pasta e patate.

Especially pasta e patate made with mixed pasta is delicious.

And no it’s not a scam because if you want pasta mista you have to buy a lot of pasta formats some of which are hardly ever used
