Japanese minister promotes Osaka Expo in Hong Kong The Japanese minister for the World Expo 2025 in Osaka teamed up with the Expo’s official character Myaku-Myaku to promote the upcoming event at a major Hong Kong tourism fair.

Jimi Hanako visited the Expo’s booth at the fair on Sunday.

She posed for commemorative photos with Myaku-Myaku and presented gifts to visitors who correctly answered questions about the Expo in a quiz competition.

Japan is a popular travel destination for Hong Kong residents, with many repeat visitors. More than 2.1 million people from Hong Kong came to Japan last year.

A 40-year-old man who has visited Osaka said that Hong Kong people love the Japanese city’s food and shopping. He said he hopes to book a flight and visit the Expo.

A married couple with their 3-year-old daughter said they plan to go to the Expo next year. They want to take their daughter with them so that she can see Japan.
