  1. Switzerland has come a long way, since I was born in the 1950ies. A few hilarious/shocking videos can be found on YouTube about how women were treated in those days. (Examples: [Lohnunterschiede Mann und Frau (1968)](https://youtu.be/uaRtnmAHg8s), [Ausbildung Polizistin ZĂĽrich 1966](https://youtu.be/HTTJrBLovLU)

OTOH, “equality” seems to be a bit of a moving target. Everyone has their own opinion on what it is, and what should be done better to achieve it. And, as always, democracy gets in the way of quick decisions, as we seem not to be able to agree on a final definition of “equality”, but use the term for whatever floats our boat that season.

A clear understanding and non-weaponised rhetoric may be the first step to achieve gender equality, even more so, as we no longer only have “Herr,Monsieur”, “Frau/Madame”, and “Fräulein/Mademoiselle”, but all sorts of genders. OTOH, the fact that we now can have all sorts of genders also means progress, IMO. it’s just slow.
