North Korea’s foreign ministry has condemned NATO for blaming the nation for providing military support to Russia in a declaration adopted on Wednesday.
The declaration accuses North Korea, along with Iran, of “fueling Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine by providing direct military support to Russia, such as munitions and uncrewed aerial vehicles.”
On Saturday, North Korea’s state-run media released a statement by a foreign ministry spokesperson.
It says the foreign ministry most strongly denounces the declaration, calling it “a confrontational program that incites a military confrontation on a global scale.”
It also says the North “will never overlook the looming grave threat but thoroughly deter the aggression and war threat with stronger level of strategic counteraction.”
On July 1, Pyongyang announced a successful test-firing of a new tactical ballistic missile, the Hwasong-11.
The North has said it will test-fire the Hwasong-11 by the end of the month to verify the explosion force of the super-large warhead and other capabilities.
