Osaka Expo mascot in promotional trip to Taiwan The official character of the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, western Japan, is visiting Taiwan to promote the event.

Myaku-Myaku appeared on a stage on Friday at a trade show promoting world tourism in Taipei. The mascot then walked around the venue, interacting with visitors and posing for photos with them.

A booth has been set up to introduce the theme and pavilions of the World Expo.

One visitor says he learned details of the Expo’s facilities and got a general idea of the event.

Another visitor, who visited the 1970 World Expo in Osaka with her father, says the official character looks fresh and she can recognize it instantly.

More than 4.2 million people from Taiwan visited Japan last year, making up the second-largest group after South Korea’s almost 7 million.

The World Expo will be held from April through October.
