ERR writes that Nordica is not doing well… I can’t say if there is anyone who would be surprised by this. The good old joke about how to become a millionaire (you have to start with a billion) certainly applies to Estonian aviation initiatives.

If I’m not mistaken, for domestic routes, the carrier is found in the tender anyway, so we only have a national airline for some external connections. At times "are competing" at the same time, with other airlines (competition is in quotation marks, because no domestic airline has been able to offer cheaper tickets every time I’ve had to fly).

Maybe it would be more reasonable (not saying that it is necessarily cheaper, but you know) to buy the services of the necessary lines – with a tender, for example. And skip those connections that have an offer.

Just for fun, I opened the activity report and it grabbed my head already on the first page. The aim is to provide service for Airbus A320 aircraft. At the same time, Bombardier and ATR72 are operated….

If I’m not mistaken, firstly, it’s not the easiest to cross-use crews, because each plane requires its own certificate for the pilot, and the maintenance is hardly the same (if you can provide it for your planes at all).

Any dream that this thing will ever be profitable could be forgotten right away – it won’t happen. The only thing that could be done is to reduce the management of activities and personnel.

What am I misunderstanding? Or would the procurement of a Brussels-Tallinn charter flight have significant disadvantages?

Maybe someone can explain why burning money year after year on behalf of a national airline still makes sense…
