Hi all! I’ve recently started thinking of an issue I’d really like my municipality to address. I won’t discuss the specifics here because I don’t want people to start debating it, since that’s not the point of my post.
My canton has a page outlining the steps to getting an initiative populaire going (here) but the challenge for me right now is the very beginning phase: putting a committee together and writing the text of the proposed law. I have no idea how to go about this and am wondering if anyone here has experience and is able to provide some pointers.
My current idea would be to reach out to those local political parties which seem like they’d be most likely to support the cause in question. But I’ll admit to not being very politically involved and so having no real idea how a party decides on their agenda and how they would respond to a non-member reaching out for support/advice like this.
Any tips would be really appreciated. : )
