Since I see a lot of scam posts in this sub, I’ll give my 2 cents.
For a while I was getting scam texts very often. I tried ignoring them, wasting their time, insulting them, kept coming. Then a few months ago I changed the privacy settings of my WhatsApp so that I’d appear inactive to anyone I don’t have the number saved (no last access, state, pic or anything). For some reason, maybe coincidence since I’d imagine they have a script and a number, this has caused the occurrences to go down and eventually drop to 0 in the past month.
Just re-enabled last seen only for unsaved contacts the other day, cause I want to see if I get some scam texts again.
