An interesting poem. Despite the name, there is not an iota of hostility towards Russians in it, on the contrary… Perhaps in those days the word maskal did not have an offensive meaning yet…
Alas, it is in Russian (translation, because the original is in Polish. And a mistake – Mickiewicz was not a Talyak, he was born in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and was a Lithuanian, one of the last…).
