Dear all,
I would like to put my hearth in pace this lunatic summer and, by paying a price, shield myself from the nefarious transport system that are the low-cost airlines. Unfortunately, unforeseen summer-long train tracks works (not in CH) are happening on the usual route I take to go on holiday, forcing me to travel outside Switzerland with easyjet instead of train. Nonetheless, easyjet is on a cancellation spreed, because why not, a grounded airplane is cheaper than some boomers not knowing their rights of being refunded and compensated.
Rants and jokes asides, my holidays plan is quite tight on schedule since it includes 6h drive + ferries the next day of the flight and so I am looking for a trip/travel insurance that could cover the rebooking/missed trip. The trip, as total costed, me less than 1.5k CHF, so not crazy, but since the connections to my holiday destination are quite poor this summer, the tight schedule and the lack of alternative connections, I can see easyjet starting the domino effect.
Do you have any suggestions? Do you have any experience with this type of insurances? It seems to me not many covers holidays ruined by the airlines cancellations.
I think we can also expand on your experiences with holidays insurances and not only strictly answer to my personal question so that this post could collect everyone’s experience.
