Japan says N.Korean missile launch on Wednesday likely used solid fuel Japan’s top government spokesperson says a missile launched by North Korea on Wednesday is believed to be an intermediate-range ballistic type that uses solid fuel.

At a Thursday news conference, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa said this kind of missile is reportedly easier to store and handle compared to those using liquid fuel, and can be launched faster.

He added that Japan, the United States and South Korea are working closely together to analyze the details.

Hayashi noted that North Korea could take further provocative actions. He said the Japanese government will do all it can to gather and analyze information, and monitor the situation.
