Very few people took part in the anti-seismic exercise in Campi Flegrei

An important event took place this morning anti-seismic exercise in the area of Phlegraean Fieldsthe vast volcanic area near Naples that is often affected by earthquakes. Residents of the municipalities of Bacoli, Pozzuoli and some neighborhoods of Naples had to simulate the evacuation that would follow a possible earthquake. To participate, it was necessary to apply to their municipality, but registrations there were very few. According to reports from various newspapers and news agencies, in total around 500 people have applied. Of these, approximately 300 would have joined in Pozzuoli, which has 76 thousand inhabitants, and another 200 in Bacoli, which has 25 thousand. In Naples about 30 people joined, as confirmed by the Municipality: the city has more than 910 thousand inhabitants, even if the exercise only involves the districts of Bagnoli, Fuorigrotta and Posillipo.

In my opinion, Musumeci’s comment is interesting as it summarizes the story a bit, excluding the area in which it took place: "This says a lot about how much inclination we Italians have towards prevention"
