US to prioritize delivery of Patriot missiles to Ukraine The United States has decided to prioritize delivery of Patriot and other air defense missiles to Ukraine by reviewing its delivery plans to other countries.

White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby said on Thursday that Russia has accelerated its missile and drone attacks against cities and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine in recent months.

He said the Ukrainian military is in desperate need of additional air defense capabilities.

He revealed that the US government has necessarily decided to “reprioritize, near term, planned deliveries of foreign military sales to other countries of particularly Patriot and NASAM missiles to go to Ukraine instead.”

Kirby said the US has informed all the affected countries of the decision.

He added that hundreds of missiles are expected to be delivered to Ukraine and the US is “making every effort to minimize any negative impact” on the countries that will be affected by the delayed deliveries.
