Russian forces moving closer to key supply route in Ukraine's east: UK analysts British defense analysts say Russian forces are gradually advancing in Ukraine’s eastern front, and are moving closer to threatening a key supply route for Ukrainian forces.

Russian forces continued to strike targets in Ukraine on Wednesday. Local authorities said two civilians were killed and four others injured in the eastern region of Kharkiv and the southern region of Kherson.

The UK defense ministry said in its intelligence update on Tuesday that Russian forces have likely taken control of the village of Novooleksandrivka, located about 20 kilometers north of Avdiivka in the eastern region of Donetsk.

It said the area has seen heavy fighting throughout the year and Russia has been gradually advancing since it captured a Ukrainian stronghold of Avdiivka in February.

The ministry said one of the main supply routes for Ukrainian forces further east of the village could come under threat of being severed and disrupting logistics.
