Offten i look at pinterest and see Albanian cities as they use to look or be, and cant help marvel at their beauty and elegance. I know Albania got hit wirh a bombshell during Communism that erassed allot of its heritage and history, but still i am holding out hope atleast one of these places in Shkodra is around today.

First and second photo yes. Lulishte 1 maji and truma e dugajve t’reja respectively. Third picture i don’t recognize.
Normally they have probably been turned into shithole slum looking neighborhoods or Cairo style huge buildings have been built there in 90s and turned into urban catastrophe.

Communism didn’t destroy anything, the so called Democracy vanished most of the old heritage buildings. Take Durrës for example, had the potential to be a marvel in the Balkans and it became a shithole of concrete just so some corrupted ones becoming richer.
