4 saved. ~90+ dead. Live tweeted terror and bombing campaigns on a hospital. I can’t help but observe the media is artificially constructing a narrative with a deluge of headlines identical to this.
I’m overjoyed the horror is over for those 4 victims of hateful violence.
I’m eager for the horror to end for the families and peers of the ~25k women and children killed in this campaign so far and millions trapped in a space that has seen more bombing than London, Dresdon, and Hamburg combined during WW2. But apparently even discussing that makes me an anti-Semite, as does all sympathy for these victims or criticism of the Israeli government.
Edit: Speaking of artificially constructed narratives, how do we like these Israeli social media campaigns to silence any dissent and structure our conversations? We don’t really talk about that enough either. You can look at every single account that has responded to this comment – defending the Israeli government is the sole content of each account. Our conversations are being manipulated.

Small tidbits of news like this aren’t going to work in a sub like this. Doesn’t bring any good discussion and it’s already setup for another internet fight. I try to avoid the topic now, too polluted.

Bottom line is this. If Hamas wants to prove without a doubt what Israel is up to, then why not release all the hostages and say you’re ready to come to the bargaining table? If their plan is to discredit Israel and paint them in a horrible light, then this puts Israel is a precarious position. Would they stop bombing and fighting or not when all the hostages are out? If they keep going then what has changed as far as the premises of Hamas’ chances of survival? I don’t see a difference in it. It would paint Israel more negatively though.
By keeping the hostages, this actually discredits Hamas and allows Israel to say they are doing this to get their hostages and eliminate Hamas. I don’t see anyway that keeping the hostages does anything other than personally hurt Netanyahu’s approval rating at his ability to get the hostages back.

One of the victims, the lady, was the one they showed being [taken away in a motorcycle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2OEktej8pk).
Why does Hamas still hold on to hostages? What’s the point? All that holding the hostages do is legitimize the invasion at this point.
Hamas seems unable to use them for any useful leverage.
