The attacks by Russia on Ukraine’s energy grid have destroyed about 50 percent of total capacity. Unlike last year’s campaign which targeted power substations, these are damaging/destroying entire power facilities.
The difference is that substations only transport electricity whilst power facilities GENERATE electricity. These facilities like coal plants, hydroelectric dams, etc. are much more difficult to repair/rebuild.
