Bolt app shows me that I’m in Beirut but I’m in Limassol? Anyone know why?

  1. Israel doesn’t give a shit how dangerous it can be which is really concerning. Them doing it on Gaza territory, I mean why not (it’s war after war), but this is so fucked up, imagine being lost somewhere you have no way to know where you are, worst than that if you need direct assistance anywhere, especially during the good days when you can go to the mountains, you have no way to know where you are. But Cyprus isn’t in war with you, just fuck off with spoofing.

The fact that Cyprus is targetted is probably because of the humanitarian aid that is sent to Gaza, no way this would be unintentional.

  2. Alleged Israel interference to GPS signals in the Mediterranean region.

Been reported in multiple news outlets and even airplanes pilot started to report that their radars are being faulty near Larnaca but nothing confirmed so far (ofc they aint confirming shit)

Also for those asking for source or saying X and Y doing it, its kinda odd that this map shows gps interference of 10%> in conflict areas and frontiers, when its known Israel disabled map services and gps functions of Waze,Google Maps and other map services to redirect traffic or simply dont show information of their “special operations “

  3. Happened to me in Limassol the last few days also, but only in some areas. Very annoying as a tourist, but of course worse for amulances etc. Russia has done this to northern Norway, but as a test I guess. (Phone is a Galaxy flip 5, so its not just iPhones)

Im starting to get really sick of this, not gonna lie. Is there anything we can do as Cypriots?

  6. Happened to me too.
One thing I did was to fix the time zone manually, so that at least the time won’t be screwed up.
Navigating (car) I found Sygic to be affected by this, tried Google Maps and it was better.
So I suppose some apps rely more on pure GPS whereas others do more with mobile network station triangulation.
