The whole independence movement come from the will of wanting to limit the power of the federal gov to spend outside his competencies.

In this case it’s a competency that should have never been given to provinces. The current government under Legault acts as if everything is fine although they also hate Montreal so they don’t care that there is a real housing issue here.
