Usually a jungle counterinsurgency warfare unit, the Philippine Army Scout Rangers were engaged for 5 months against entrenched Moro rebels who tried to capture the city of Marawi under the guise of the Islamic State.
Calling themselves the Islamic State – East Asia Province, this supergroup of Moro rebels attempted to capture the Islamic city of Marawi as a springboard to capture other population cities in Mindanao.

never been in a war but imho if soldiers stay so close they look so novice.
I will never understand why the terrorists thinks they can hold a city with only 1000 militants like did they think the AFP will send in 1000 soldiers as well?
