  1. Just in case you fell for the green recycling fairytales, this is what actually happens. Not just in RO.

This is pretty much the case everywhere … the difference is that in Ro, the collection part done by the citizens is even less efficient (i’m from there).

Otherwise, i’m pretty sure no serious company will take the load of waste management when there’s no upside to the story. Where is the projected profit in waste management?

Collecting and green processing of waste is not a lucrative business in general … that’s why they dump most of the waste in Africa and such.

    >Upwards of 85 % of electronics and electrical parts imported into Ghana are from the EU, and a large chunk is dumped as e-waste after entering the country. Only 35 % of second-hand and waste electronics in Europe end up in official recycling and collection systems.

Why did some EU nations decide not to use Nuclear -> you can’t dump nuclear waste randomly around the globe, but they can dump most of everything else.

  3. Yep, recycling firms from wealthier countries make shady deals with local politicians in romania to offload everything for cheap instead of recycling it in the west. The recycling-quotas look amazing over there and romanians are drowning in waste. Also look up the problems with air quality around bucharest, because of all the garbage dumps and fires happening.

Do not mention who is burning car tires on the outskirts of Bucharest, you’ll get banned.

    You can send us all.

We at Portugal are used to trash and we recieve the worlds worst refugue and refugee.

  6. There are usually two parties involved. Regions with too much trash to incinerate or recycle and regions with corrupt politicians that are willing to take in that trash for money and bribes.

Romania seems to have plenty of the latter.
