The new European pact is truly historic and shows that the EU delivers, even in its current reduced state. Extremist fringes on both sides attack it for being too soft or too harsh, but polls have shown that most Europeans are in favor of a balanced approach. It delivers

This is just more Dublin Regulations!

It just screws over border countries because they will have to manage the expenses and the applications!

  2. “Extremist fringes” ….. literally only one MEP from Czechia voted for it. ….. but sure call everyone who disagrees fringe – that works great.

  3. We should act more like Australia and choose which migrants we really need. What is more we don’t need illegal migrants but only those who met the requirements and legally applied (I am not talking about war refugees for whom EU was the first safe country – all of them can stay for as long as there is war in their country). We don’t have to create any new laws – just really obey the rules that we already have.

  4. I realize there is no deal that would make everyone happy but this one where the border countries are mandated to deal with the refugees and secondary countries could volunteer to help is recipe for disaster. Especially since most refugees aren’t traveling thousands of km to stay in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy or Spain.

What we really need is 2km of no man’s land around Europe with a bunch of turrets

  6. Pretty in writing, but putting words to action consequently is an entirely different matter and one of the biggest struggles with EU migration politics in recent and coming years.
